AXIA Award 2017 – 12/2017

Axia Award 2017

For some time now Deloitte, WirtschaftsWoche and the BDI (Federation of German Industries) have been distinguishing successful SMEs. At a ceremony in Düsseldorf, the "Axia Award" was received by companies that represent “outstanding examples of corporate governance in German SMEs”.

The Axia Award 2017 was handed out on 29th November 2017 in the CAPITOL THEATER in Düsseldorf, under the four categories of People, Strategy, Innovation and Resources. The jury praised the sustainable growth strategy and successful implementation of different flagship projects. “The winners of the Axia Awards are characterised by their ability to face up to the challenges before them and manage their business not only well, but also responsibly and prudently – an admirable entrepreneurial ethos. As a result, they not only secure the economic future of Germany as a business location, but also make a contribution to solving societal challenges”, emphasized Lutz Meyer, partner and head of Deloitte’s SME programme.

Like the other 144 competitors in this year’s Axia Awards, Leesys had to show how it builds work environments in the “People” category, how it accelerates growth in the “Strategy” category, how it uses technology in the “Innovation” category and how it protects the environment in the “Resources” category. All of this resonates within the word “Axia”, the ancient Greek for “value, ability, success”. To achieve this, the businesses first had to complete an extensive questionnaire. The managers were then asked in person about the development of their companies. Sixty-five SMEs from all over Germany were shortlisted. Thirty-one finalists made it to the last round and experienced the glamorous ceremony.

Leesys thanks Deloitte for its nomination!
