electronica 2016 -A day with the sales director Stefan Salesch - 12/2016

The trade fair electronica in Munich is the leading world trade fair for components, systems and applications of the electronic industry. The elite of the trade branch gather here every two years and obtains information on the latest developments, trends and products.  Leesys was also represented this year at the fair as an exhibitor. The entire sales team for Germany, Austria and Switzerland were also there.

The Sales Director Stefan Salesch spoke in an interview about the highlights of this year’s trade fair.

The motto of electronica 2016 was: "Networked world - but safe!" - How does this motto suit Leesys from our point of view?

The motto describes Leesys’s philosophy and method of working perfectly. Our certification in accordance with ISO27001, which was carried out recently is a good example of that.  We alone do not profit as manufacturers by entering the network of the producing industry but our customers also.  Industrial companies today achieve more and more efficiency and better control on the production quality, maintenance work and the supply chain. Such a smart factory, an intelligent factory, is made possible through the internet of things, the machines and processes networked electronically through software and sensors. Leesys stands for safe hardware and secure communication: convincing, high-performing and reliable. Networked worlds, yet still safe!

How does one prepare for the trade fair?

electronica is a market place. One has to be present here in order to establish contacts. Thus to be present is not an option for us, but a clear “must” and we gladly commit ourselves to this trade fair.

The most important assignment during the entire preparation phase was to mobilize and invite our customers to the trade fair – for this there are the existing customers as well as new potential customers. Leesys attaches great importance to a close connection to the customers and a trusting relationship to one another. Our long years of experience shows that the symbiosis of these two components form the core for a successful cooperation.

What was the focus this year in the discussion?

The industrial emphasis was focussed this year on industrial electronics, automotive and smart home. We were able to exchange notes on the trends in this branch of the industry during the discussions. It deals here on this occasion often also about the jointly implemented projects, which one likes to review again, in order to achieve optimization in the calculation in future, perhaps also a clarification of technical issues according to the motto: “What I always wanted to ask” or simply about new projects, which one would like to implement together with Leesys shortly.

What were the new requirements named by the dialogue partners in contrast to two years ago?

The projects have become clearly more complex in contrast to two years ago, i.e. the customers are interested in complete solutions. Beginning with the development till the completion of complete systems. The classic electronic assembly production loses more and more in significance. This change to more complex and challenging tasks requires a competent and reliable EMS service provider. Here lies Leesys’s strength – we are a completely integrated EMS service provider with a very high real net output ratio!

What is yout conclusion?

On the whole we assess electronica 2016 as a complete success for Leesys! If already at the trade fair that shortly before the dismantling of the exhibition booth we receive specific project enquiries, then we can look optimistically into the future. In fact there are such project enquiries, which we will discuss in detail with those interested, in order to offer solutions. It is important also to acquire customers.

We notice that many customers recognize Leesys as a trustworthy and strong partner.

As a result of which I look forward now to the next electronica in 2018.
