Exchange of Experience "Demographics of the Company" – 11/2016

The demographic change does not stop in front of the factory gates either. The composition and structure of the employees are changing. And companies must react to this in order to be sustainable and secure in the future.


Within the framework of an exchange of experiences under the motto "Demographics of the Company: Being prepared for the Demographic Change", various approaches and strategies were discussed in the competence cluster Qualification / Continuing Education of the Automotive Cluster in Eastern Germany (Automotive Cluster Ostdeutschland ACOD) in order to be able to master the change safely.

The Managing Director of the ACOD, Dr. Jens Katzek, thanked the participants for their open and constructive cooperation within the Competence Cluster. From the point of view of human resources, topics such as personnel development and qualification, work design, company health promotion and knowledge management were highlighted. Concrete application examples and interesting case studies were presented by the participating companies in the context of impulse lectures and subsequently discussed with interest.


The event took place in the facilities of Leesys - Leipzig Electronic Systems GmbH in Leipzig. After completing the exchange of experiences, the participants gladly accepted the invitation to convince themselves on the shopfloor of some realized examples on the topic "Being prepared for the Demographic Change" at Leesys. A guided tour through the modern Electronic Manafacturing Services (EMS) facilities attracted great interest among the visitors. Overall, the exchange of experiences was rated very positively by all participants.




Dr. Arnd Karden, Managing Director of Leesys, summarized: "Many companies are focused on identical fields of action in the management of the demographic change. From our point of view, it is advisable and helpful to exchange ideas and solutions form different companies even across of company boundaries. This is the only way to achieve a continuous and sustainable evolution in human resources. And ultimately it is the most important resource of every company: it's about the employees! "
