Review of the International Suppliers' Exchange (IZB) in Wolfsburg - 10/2016

IZB Wolfsburg

The trade fair “Internationale Zuliefererbörse (IZB)” took place in Wolfsburg from 18 to 20 October 2016. For Leesys have been on site the Managing Director Dr. Arnd Karden, the Director R & D Dr. Holger Pastillé,  and the Head of Sales Stefan Salesch together with the Sales Manager Uwe Smoktun. For Leesys it was the first visit as an exhibitor at the IZB.

The national initiative Automotive Cluster Ostdeutschland (ACOD) had invited Leesys GmbH to participate in a joint stand with other members of ACOD at the IZB. Since it is not so easy to participate in the trade fair - VW's trade fair is reserved for direct suppliers - an invitation is required. For this reason, all the participants in the company have been very pleased with the ACOD's invitation and have taken it for granted to present Leesys and their EMS services in Wolfsburg. "It was a premiere for both Leesys and myself," said Uwe Smoktun.

Leesys presents itself at the IZB

First of all, Leesys was able to present itself as an EMS service provider and some of its products. In addition, the prototype of a Leesys self-development was presented. This is a light and humidity sensor for Automobile, which was developed in house by Dr. Pastillé and his team.

The expectations of the fair were fulfilled to the fullest extent. The aim was to win new customers or to hold interesting discussions with potential new customers - which also happened. "We had a high response at the booth, so we were able to talk with many companies, many of them also suppliers for VW," explains Smoktun.

At the same time, existing customers were invited to the fair, so that many meetings with current customers could be held. For this purpose, customers for whom the trade fair might be interesting were targeted and a date agreed on the spot. This too was very successful. In addition, the team used the opportunity to look at the trade fair and to establish new connections. "As we were four, you could always see what others are doing, which is also important."

Result of the fair

The conclusion for Leesys and for Uwe Smoktun is: "It was a fantastic show and an excellent opportunity to present Leesys. I am confident that the trade fair will acquire new customers to Leesys."

Leesys has also got into contact with a company from Saxony, which is looking not only for a development partner for a new product, but also for the production - and is thus the right address for Leesys. "Very good discussions have been held and one can assume that things will go on quickly," Smoktun summarizes the success.

The team and he would, of course, participate again immediately, if the invitation comes from the ACOD. "This fair is actually a must have for every automotive supplier. If you are invited, then take part!"
